Chief Minister Dhami met the injured workers after the tunnel accident and enquired about their well-being.

Chamoli, August 14. Following the accident at the THDC’s under-construction tunnel in Mayapur (Peepalkoti), Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the site and inspected the rescue operation. He then visited the District Hospital in Gopeshwar to meet the injured rescued workers and inquire about their well-being.

The Chief Minister inquired from the workers about their health and treatment. He also inquired from the doctors about the medical facilities being provided to the injured and directed them to provide the best possible treatment. He said that the health of the injured should be constantly monitored and no shortages should be allowed in their treatment.

The Chief Minister said that the life of every worker is extremely precious. The safe evacuation of all workers trapped in the tunnel is the government’s top priority. All available resources are being utilized in the rescue operation, and no negligence will be tolerated at any level.

He stated that he personally spoke with the Chief Ministers of the respective states to ensure timely information is provided to the families of the workers affected by the accident. He also stated that a magisterial inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the accident.

During this, Badrinath MLA Lakhpat Singh Butola, District Panchayat President Daulat Singh Bisht, Additional District Magistrate Vivek Prakash, Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Rajiv Pal along with other officers and public representatives were present.
